p-Hydroxyacetophenone (English name p-hydroxyacetophenone) also known as 4-Hydroxyacetophenone (4-acetyl phenol), 4-acetyl phenol (4-acetyl phenol), p-acetyl phenol (p-acetyl phenol), 4-hydroxyphenyl ketone (4-hydroxyphenyl ketone), commonly known as piceol, white needle crystal at room temperature, flammable, easily soluble in hot water, methanol, ethanol, ethyl ether, acetone, benzene, difficult to dissolve in petroleum ether. It is naturally found in the stems and leaves of Artemisia asclepium of Compositae family, and in the roots of Artemisia asclepium and Asclepium asclepium. This product is used for the manufacture of bile medicine and other raw materials for organic synthesis. Animal experiments showed that this product can increase the secretion of bile in rats, and also increase the output of solid matter, cholic acid and bilirubin in bile.
